There are times when we all wish that we could
finish a project with one grade of sandpaper, avoid the often
tedious job of selecting the proper grit, and not have to keep
a supply of different grits on hand. Unfortunately this isn't
the case but with Ersta abrasives life is made a whole lot
easier!!
Ersta produces the ideal sandpaper
for wood. Their papers can also be used on lacquered
surfaces and synthetics. Because the paper is not as densely
coated as waterproof papers, it is does not load up as quickly.
The abrasive used is aluminum oxide, which is not as hard as
silicon carbide, and not quite as sharp. This is desirable
particularly with soft materials such as wood, because it is
not as likely to gouge. The abrasives in "ERSTA SUPER
CUT" papers are fully synthetic resin-bonded and should
not be confused with flint papers or partially resin-bonded
papers - even with those from the same manufacturer. Latex
added to its backing makes "ERSTA SUPER CUT" paper
flexible. The abrasive surface contains dust-repelling additives,
giving it a considerably longer life than comparable papers.
